"Pride of India" award, Mauritius
An entrepreneur from India, Mr. DhirajLal Kotadia, Chairman of Sahajanand Group, has honored the prestigious “Pride of India Leadership Award” for his contribution in human health and bringing down the cost of coronary stent used in angioplasty. The prize awarding ceremony was held in Balaclava, Mauritius and the prestigious award was presented by the President of Mauritius, H.E. Rt. Hon. Sir Anerood Jugnauth. |

| Mr. Kotadia is the founder and currently the CEO of Sahajanand Group of companies comprising of Sahajanand Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Sahajanand Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and Sahajanand life sciences Private Ltd. This umbrella group went from a single startup company with a handful of employees, to a full-blown Sahajanand Group of companies, with more than 600 personnel in its repertoire of employees as on date under the able guidance of Mr. Kotadia. |

| Moved by the apathy of an old poor man’s inability to afford critical life saving medicines for his ailing wife, Mr. Kotadia established Sahajanand Medical Technologies- a company that focused on innovation and technology to save lives of people. During late 1990s, India being a poor country was paying heavy penalties for its poverty by shelling out exorbitant prices for life saving critical medicines not manufactured in India. The cardiac stent was one of such critical life saving medical devices not manufactured in India and even well to do family of India were struggling to afford an extension of life. Because of monopoly of a few multi national medical companies, many unfortunate souls lost lives every day. A firmly determined soul, Mr. Kotadia ventured into this field with the sole aim that regardless of his/her financial status, every one on the earth has a right to live a longer life. His steely determination and vision resulted in the first stent manufacturing company in Asia and his persistent efforts forced the multinational companies in the past to reduce their stent price by one third. A staunch believer of innovation and improvisation, Mr. Kotadia is quick to incorporate new and innovative ideas into existing products. That is how he inspired his team for their pioneering effort to introduce biodegradable polymer, the most sought after technology currently pursued by all other stent manufacturing companies across the world. His Endeavour is helping India in not only preserving valuable foreign currencies and lives but also earning in foreign currencies as the company exports its products to more than 30 countries across the world, thereby saving thousands of lives. |
